Project
Management
R E Thompson undertake project management for contracts that require
services not provided in-house ranging from the simple powder coating
of a machine
part through to the sub-contracting of high volumes of overseas sourced
components and subsequent quality control, assembly, testing and delivery.
Box
Build
R E Thompson offer full box build services including the assembly of
mechanical parts, pcb boards, cable harnesses, fixtures and fittings
as well as finishing, packaging, labeling and delivery.
Schedules
Of Work
R E Thompson have the resources to develop schedules of work for contracts upto £1m
and utilising numerous third parties. Proposals can be written and examination
of tenders made culminating in a programme of works from start to finish over
timescale's of up to a year.
Project
Co-ordination
Where multiple third parties are involved we can manage the co-ordination of
third parties including sub-contractors, designers, consultants and professional
service providers. Project co-ordination also involves the preparation of project
programmes and progress reviews as well as organising logistics and available
capacity.
Cost
Control
Controlling cost is critical to any successful project. Where preliminary budgets
have been drawn up it can often be beneficial to carry out cost reviews as agreements
are confirmed and the project takes off. R E Thompson are able to review spending
across the board through mechanisms such as ongoing contract
negotiation. Integrated with progress evaluations, value of works can be carried
out and payments made on account.
Contract
Administration
Where contracts and service agreements have been made it can often prove critical
to determine that compliance with agreed objectives has been made. This can
be a particular burden when disaster strikes such as product design error, sub-contractor
liquidation or natural disaster. Another element
of contract administration is the determination of compliance with regulatory
obligations such as environmental, health & safety and financial issues.
Project
Reporting
R E Thompson position themselves as a collaborative supplier and as such aim
to make available a clear reporting structure for their customers such that performance
indicators including project price, quality, delivery times and levels of service
can at all times be available. Reporting is structured as required and can encompass
immediate production performance as well as long term project forecasts and progress.
Risk
Management
Management of risk is essential for project viability. As an established player,
R E Thompson has years of experience upon which to assess risk and act accordingly.
Whether its risk associated with tight deadlines, financial risk or provision
of
emergency back up service providers, R E Thompson can assess and manage risk
on behalf
of customers,
offering a proactive and clear sighted perspective on project co-ordination and
management.
