CNC Technical Estimator


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Estimator to join our team. As a CNC Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost and time required for CNC machining projects. Your expertise in analysing drawings, understanding manufacturing processes, and evaluating material requirements will be crucial in providing accurate estimates to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal teams and external clients.

  • Analyse technical drawings specifications, and other technical documents to understand the scope of CNC machining projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Production teams to determine the most efficient manufacturing processes and material requirements.
  • Utilize software and tools to generate accurate cost and time estimates for CNC machining projects.
  • Consider factors such as material costs, machine time, labour costs, and overhead expenses when preparing estimates.
  • Consult with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information for materials and services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of cost and time estimates for future reference and analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to provide accurate and timely estimates to customers.
  • Review and revise estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or specifications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in CNC machining technology, and pricing fluctuations to ensure accurate estimations.



  • 3 years of experience working within an Engineering background (ideally aerospace manufacturing)
  • Proven experience as a CNC Estimator or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations.


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Cad/Cam and Programming certification or/both experience
  • Understanding of AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of lean tools and practical experience of their use


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills.
  • ​Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and on their own initiative.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy even when working under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve high quality output in all tasks.
  • Able to proactively identify risks and issues and devise mitigation and contingency plans, solving problems as they arise.
  • An organised and methodical approach to working.
  • Self-motivated, happy to work under own initiative and effectively as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Systematic planning and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining quality of output.
  • Ability to solve multi-layered problems while maintaining customer focus.
  • Able to deliver results vital to business success whilst being fully supportive to other team members.
