CNC Turner Setter


We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our team. As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting our computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components according to specifications. Your expertise in setting up, adjusting, and maintaining CNC turning equipment will be essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of parts.

  • Salary: Up to £54k Per annum
  • Positions: Hiring multiple candidates
  • Working Pattern: Various shifts available (I.e., Nights, 7-days shift, 5-day shift)
  • Job Type: Permanent.
  • Location: Andover
  • Reports to: Managing Director

Key Tasks

  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and requirements.
  • Set and prove cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for each job.
  • Responsible for overseeing the first off inspections
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC turning machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members, including engineers and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.


  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner or similar role.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC turning machines.
  • Strong knowledge of G-codes and CNC machine controls.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with Fanuc controls is a plus.
  • Preparing accurate quotations and estimates.
