We are recruiting a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team at our Head Office in Whitchurch, and our satellite office in Andover. You will be supporting the Quality Manager in overseeing the QMS. You will be responsible for reviewing, understanding and working to the quality standards, specifications and processes set by customers and accreditation bodies. You will also be responsible for developing and controlling our internal processes and quality control systems.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Quality team in day-to-day management of the Quality system and measuring of Quality Performance internally, with customers and suppliers.
- Improve the Quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing process and the supply chain by liaising with staff, management, customers, and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain cost-effective and practical inspection methodologies using appropriate equipment suitable for the product range.
- Assist with review and sign-off of First Article Inspection Reports.
- Develop a continuous improvement plan of activities by supporting LEAN & 5S events and generating individual ideas to improve Quality.
- Liaise with customers, staff and management on Quality issues and provide immediate response to all customer complaints and manage customer returns, investigation, and rework requirements.
- Use 8D problem solving with 5Y principles, to determine all internal & external non-conformances.
- Carry out internal product, process, and supplier audits to ensure that the processes in place are maintained, and the manufacturing & supply chain is compliant.
- Ensuring all non-conforming records are reviewed and closed out in a timely manner.
- Control the calibration system for up to 2000 individual items.
- Implement the integration and operation of AS9145.
- Support inspection activities and provide quality guidance.
- Assist in management of the DSQR process within the business.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
- At least 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Quality Engineering Management & Quality Systems experience.
- A level of Internal Auditing and Quality Management systems experience.
- Experience of working in a Quality role within Aerospace, Automotive industry, Engineering or Medical industry.
- 8D Problem Solving, 5Ys and Fishbone analysis.
DESIRABLE
- Mechanical Engineering qualification — HNC minimum.
- Experience of AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Inspection of mechanical components.
- An understanding of APQP / AS9145.
- CMM programming and use.
- An understanding of LEAN manufacturing philosophy.
- Computer literate, understanding of CNC Machining and Development of First Articles and Measurement.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Quality control software (1factory).
